Bladder cancer treatments can affect patients’ social lives and their overall health. Bladder cancer can be uncomfortable to talk about because it can cause changes in intimate parts of the body. These may include changes to urinary function, urinary leakage or incontinence.
Leakage is not the only problem as it usually has an effect on one’s sex life and sexuality.
Burning and irritation during urination are common side issues with bladder cancer treatments. Some may experience incontinence (urine leaking) issues after bladder removal surgery. This can be very inconvenient and it may require changes to work, hobbies and other social activities.
